It’s a question we ask frequently at Emanuel Lutheran School.

We provide children with a positive environment where they are eager to learn.

We offer parents an opportunity for their children to receive instruction focused on individual growth. We don’t focus purely on test results, we instead reach each student where they are in their own growth process, and encourage their individual achievement to the best of their ability.  Since 1957, Emanuel has provided families with an education that goes beyond academics, and we hope that you will take a moment to look at all we have to offer.

Emanuel is an award-winning school. We offer strong academics, with traditional classes in literature/language arts, science, social studies, and math daily, in addition, we feature weekly Spanish classes for all students. Physical education, art, and music round out our week, with choir and brass handbell programs also available. The highly regarded Accelerated Reader Program encourages students to achieve reading success at their own pace, selecting books that challenge them before taking computerized quizzes that track their individual progress. In addition to our regular science lessons, our middle school STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) Enrichment classes meet several times a week. Band/string lessons begin in first grade, and after-school offerings include a variety of special interest clubs and sports programs. Our younger grades incorporate swim lessons at the YMCA into their spring gym classes.  Weekly Chapel and Praise services, along with daily prayer and religion lessons, allow students to develop a personal relationship with God.

Our program adds depth to our character education curriculum with measurable criteria. While we have always looked for ways to encourage the development of values in our students, the faculty has designed ways to foster an increased level of development in our youngsters. Included in the program are parent surveys. Parental feedback helps ensure we are developing the character attributes they think are most important to their child’s future success and happiness.

We use a proven structure process for increasing the joy of learning. It encourages students to choose their positive attitudes daily and to be there to support each other in a cheerful learning environment that welcomes them to school each morning. We are not just an elementary school; we provide a foundation necessary for successful, joyful living.

I am thankful to God for the outstanding education and spiritual guidance my grandson, De’Andre is receiving from Emanuel Lutheran School. The teachers, administration, and principal are truly committed to the students!!! God Bless.

The atmosphere at ELS is positive, and everybody is extremely kind and friendly. I have also had the opportunity to learn and practice my faith and grow in my understanding of the “Fruit of the Spirit,” which include kindness, love, self-control, joy, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, peace, and patience.
